‘Riverdale’ Unveils Season 1 Key Art Ahead Of January Premiere

The CW

The CW has released key art for its new midseason series Riverdale ahead of its January 26 premiere.

With the tagline “A great place to get away with it all,” (a bit of a sarcistic twist there) the key art is set in a 50s-style diner with main characters Archie (K.J. Apa), Jughead (Cole Sprouse), Betty (Lili Reinhart), Cheryl (Madalaine Petsch), Josie (Ashleigh Murray) and Veronica (Camila Mendes).

Set in present day and based on the iconic Archie Comics characters, Riverdale, from Warner Bros TV, is a surprising and subversive take on Archie, Betty, Veronica and their friends, exploring the surrealism of small-town life — the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome façade.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Supergirl, Glee) writes and executive produces, along with exec producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater. Lee Toland Krieger directs.
