Manuel Garcia-Rulfo Joins ‘Sicario’ Sequel, Signs With WME

EXCLUSIVE: Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who recently signed with WME for agency representation, has been cast in Soldado, the follow-up to 2015’s Sicario that stars Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin. Stefano Sollima is directing this lastest installment for Lionsgate and Black Label Media with a script from Taylor Sheridan.

The sequel sees the return of Alejandro Gillick (Del Toro), the shadowy, Man on Fire-like protagonist, and CIA agent Matt Graver (Brolin), who in the first film established themselves as hellbent on hunting down cartel bosses. Garcia-Rulfo will play Gallo, a dangerous and sadistic kingpin.

Black Label’s Molly Smith and Thad and Trent Luckinbill are producing along with Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk, and Edward McDonnell.

Garcia-Rulfo was on the big screen in Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven, and his  other credits include the Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series and Carl Franklin’s Bless Me, Ultima. Garcia-Rulfo will continue to be managed by LBI Entertainment.
