WaPo reported the CIA said emails were hacked both from RNC and DNC, but only DNC emails were made public, “although, to be fair, what could possibly be in the Republican emails more embarrassing than what their candidate was saying, out loud, in public,” Meyer said, conceding, “Donald Trump is a hacked email come to life.”
Team Trump slammed the CIA report, snarking, “These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein has weapons of mass destruction,” and crowing that “the election ended a long time ago in one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history.
Trump’s election in fact was not one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history, Meyers noted. It ranks 46, out of 58 presidential elections. “To put that in Sunday cable TV ratings terms: He’s not The Walking Dead, he’s The Barefoot Contessa,” Meyers explained.
And, to the other point in Team Trump’s response, the election ended five weeks ago, Meyers noted.
Trump also explained, over the weekend, he does not need to participate in the traditional daily intelligence briefings, telling Fox News’s Chris Wallace, “I get it when I need it.” He added, “I’m like a smart person,” which Meyers called “a sentence that disproves itself,” likening it to a back tattoo that says, “I make good decisions.”
