‘Monday Night Football’ Rebounds Big In Ratings, ‘Timeless’ Wraps Fall Run On Low

UPDATED WITH FINALS: New England Patriots’ 30-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens was what Monday Night Football needed after the rating tumble last week. With a 9.1 rating in metered market results, the Patriots-Ravens face-off was up +52% over the near low for the ESPN and NFL franchise of last Monday, peaking from 9:30-9:45 PM ET with a 10.5 MM rating. ESPN is expected to top Monday’s primetime in both cable and the broadcasters.

The fast nationals for NBC and ABC were both inflated by local football pre-emptions. In the finals, the performance finale of NBC’s The Voice held at a 2.2 rating in adults 18-49, down a full rating point vs. last fall (3.2) and +.2 ahead of the comparable episode last spring. The fall finale of freshman drama Timeless (1.0) was adjusted down -0.2, down -0.2 from last week and a new low for the freshman series.

ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight (1.1) from 8-10 PM matched its Live+same day rating from last week after also running even in the fast nationals. A repeat of The Great American Baking Show (0.8) at 10 PM fared as well as the finale of Conviction in the hour last week, matching the fast national for the drama, which will be relocating to Sunday after the break. The Baking Show rerun was adjusted to a 0.6 in the finals.

At CBS, Kevin Can Wait (1.4) and Scorpion (1.1) were both down a tenth from their most recent originals, the latter tying a series low; The Odd Couple (1.0) was up a tenth while Man with a Plan (1.2) and 2 Broke Girls (1.2) were even as Man with the Plan ticked up in total viewers (6.18 million +7%) to log its largest audience since the series premiere.

Fox and the CW aired repeats.
