Tooley Prods Snaps Up ‘Pics Or It Didn’t Happen’ Spec By Abby McDonald

EXCLUSIVE: Tucker Tooley’s Tooley Productions has acquired spec script Pics Or It Didn’t Happen by young adult author Abby McDonald. The project is described as a female-driven thriller for the Instagram generation. The title phrase is often used as a challenge to an unbelievable claim.

The UK-born McDonald is the author of two young adult thrillers, Dangerous Girls and Dangerous Boys which was published by Simon & Schuster. She’s also penned YA titles Sophomore Switch, Boys, Bears & A Serious Pair Of Hiking Boots, The Anti-Prom, Getting Over Garrett Delaney and Jane Austen Goes To Hollywood.

She’s repped by Paradigm and Exile Entertainment.

This is the latest acquisition for Tooley’s year-old company. It has already scored a roster of international first-look distribution pacts and has several projects moving ahead. They include 6 Below, a modern prodigal-son thriller based on the true story of former Olympic hockey player Eric LeMarque who gets lost while snowboarding in a massive storm. Also in the pipeline are Hunter Killer starring Gerard Butler; Den Of Thieves; a television adaptation of Neil Strauss’ nonfiction book Emergency: This Book Will Save Your Life and supernatural thriller Mary.
