‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Trailer Seizes 100M Views Online

Paramount’s trailer for Michael Bay’s Transformers: The Last Knight has clocked 100 million views since its drop on Monday. A first look at the film was released during ESPN’s Monday Night Football and quickly has became the Melrose lot’s biggest trailer launch to date.

Back in early November, Paramount’s January release XXX: The Return of Xander Cage also was widely viewed online, drawing 100M in two days.

The Transformers trailer saw 93.6M views in its first 24 hours, making it the third-most-viewed trailer of 2016. Following the release, Transformers: The Last Knight trended on all major social media outlets including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Reddit. In China, where the trailer saw 16M views in 24 hours, the film was Weibo’s No. 1 trending topic.

Bay’s Transformers franchise based on the Hasbro toy line has earned north of $3.7B at the global box office. Last Knight is the fifth title in the series and will open June 23.
