‘Hunted’ Trailer: First Look At CBS’ Manhunt Competition Series

The hunt is about to be on. Here is the first trailer for Hunted, CBS’ midseason competition series that follows teams of “fugitives” as they try to stay one — or three — steps ahead of their professional pursuers. The chase begin January 22, after the AFC Championship Game.

Hunted follows nine teams of two in a real-life manhunt as they attempt to disappear in today’s digital world, as skilled investigators combine state-of-the-art tracking methods with traditional tactics to pursue and catch them. From searching their targets’ homes and scouring their Internet and cell phone histories to identifying behavioral patterns, Hunters in the field and Command Center investigators work together to identify clues to potential hiding places and collaborators that ultimately can lead to capture. A grand prize of $250,000 is awarded to each team that successfully evades being caught for up to 28 days within 100,000 square miles of the southeastern U.S.

Backed with the dramatic music endemic among reality competition series, the trailer shows one serious-faced ex-FBI tracker talking about taking this “very seriously because this is what we do for a living.” As for the trackers’ potential quarry, one says, “I want to say that I got away from the best of the best.” Says another: “When I agreed to do this, I agreed to my whole life beong exposed — my emails, my phone records; someone is in every aspect of my life right now.”

Welcome to life on the run, fugitive.
