The spinoff picks up one year after the events of the final broadcast episode of The Good Wife. In the new series, an enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of young lawyer Maia (Rose Leslie), while simultaneously wiping out the savings of her mentor Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski). Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms. Bartha will play Colin, is a rising star in the State’s Attorney’s office and Chicago’s most eligible bachelor. Romantic sparks begin to fly when he finds himself going up against Lucca in the courtroom.

The Good Wife alums Zach Grenier, Jerry Adler and Sarah Steele reprise their roles for The Good Fight, which also features Delroy Lindo, Paul Guilfoyle, Bernadette Peters and Erica Tazel.

“Whenever you’re looking for a romantic lead, you look for someone who can play the comedy and the sexuality, but even more importantly is the intelligence,”: EPs Robert and Michelle King said in a statement. “And that’s what we love about Justin: He can play all three — the comedy and the sexuality, but he’s also convincing as a tough intellectual foe to Cush Jumbo in court.”

Bartha played Doug Billings in all three Hangover films and co-starred on Fox’s Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life. He also starred on NBC’s The New Normal and appeared in such features as White Girl and CBGB. The actor is repped by CAA and MGMT Management.
