Kristen Wiig, ‘SNL’ & David S. Pumpkins Skeletons Take Mannequin Challenge

Two memes in one. This new promo for the upcoming Saturday Night Live guest-hosted by Kristen Wiig features the former cast member-turned-movie-actress taking the Mannequin Challenge along with the rest of the SNL gang – including those two skeletons that danced with Tom Hanks’ weirdly popular David S. Pumpkins character just before Halloween.

The Mannequin Challenge, in the off, off chance you haven’t heard, is a viral video trend where people freeze up to the song “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd. In the SNL version, the camera does a tracking shot backstage at Studio 8H, capturing the unmoving cast in rehearsal. We see the Weekend Update crew, Kate McKinnon (not doing Hillary), Leslie Jones taking a selfie, many others and finally Wiig.

Oh, and the skeletons. Introduced during Tom Hanks’ pre-Halloween hosting gig, the skeletons (played by Mikey Day and Bobby Moynihan) accompanied Hanks’ David S. Pumpkins, a Halloween-crazed guy in a jack-o’lantern-festooned suit. No word on whether they’ll actually be making an appearance on this week’s episode, but the show knows not to waste a viral possibility when it has one, hence the promo.

Wiig, a seven-season former cast member, makes her second appearance as host this Saturday, November 19. Musical guest is xx.

Take a look at the new promo above, and in case you need a Pumpkins refresher, here’s that:
