Matt Gerald Boards David Ayer’s ‘Bright’; Angel Bonanni Cast In ‘Entebbe’


Matt Gerald has joined David Ayer’s film Bright, the Max Landis-scripted fantasy cop thriller that Netflix picked up for $90M.  Will Smith, Joel Egerton, and Noomi Rapace star in the film that’s set in a world where humans cohabit the earth with magical creatures. Eric Newman, Ayer, Landis and Bryan Unkeless are producing. Gerald recurs on second season of the Marvel/Netlfix series Daredevil, and will next be seen in the crime thriller Solace opposite Anthony Hopkins, Colin Farrell and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He is repped by TalentWorks and Good Fear Film & Management.


Angel Bonanni has landed a role in the Jose Padilha-directed drama Entebbe, written by Greg Burke. He joins Rosamund Pike, Daniel Bruhl and Vincent Cassel in the pic from Working Title and Participant Media . It’s the 1976 true story of when four hijackers took a plane hostage and diverted it to land in Entebbe, Uganda, while they demanded the release of dozens of Palestinian and pro-Palestinian prisoners. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce alongside Kate Solomon. Bonanni is currently working on the Fox limited series Shots Fired produced by Gina Prince-Blythewood and Brian Grazer.  He is with Innovative, Greenlight Management and ADD Agency in Israel.
