Deadline’s The Contenders Hits Capacity; Biggest Lineup Of Stars & Filmmakers Ever


The sixth annual The Contenders Presented By Deadline is set for Saturday with the largest lineup of studio and filmmakers yet. The eagerly awaited event is at capacity now, hitting that mark in a record four days with enthusiastic response from the invitation-only list of Academy and top guild members.

With 21 studios and distributors participating, our talent lineup includes some of the heaviest hitters in our industry. Scheduled to appear are Warren Beatty (Rules Don’t Apply); Mel Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge); Denzel Washington and Viola Davis and the cast of Fences; Amy Adams (Arrival)Miles Teller and Aaron Eckhart (Bleed For This); Justin Timberlake (Trolls); Emma Stone, Damien Chazelle and John Legend (La La Land); Viggo Mortensen and Matt Ross (Captain Fantastic); Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine and Ben Foster (Hell Or High Water); Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg (Patriots Day); Jessica Chastain and John Madden (Miss Sloane); Hailee Steinfeld, James L. Mike Fleming, Dominic Patten, Anthony Dalessandro and I will be moderating panels throughout the day, which starts with breakfast at 8 AM and concludes at 4:45 PM at the DGA Theater in West Hollywood. For lunch we have a big Texas barbecue planned.
