Robert De Niro is set to receive the Hollywood Comedy Award for his forthcoming film The Comedian, at the 20th annual Hollywood Film Awards which James Corden will host on November 6 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. He joins previous recipients, Judd Apatow, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Schumer and Ben Stiller.

De Niro won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Vito Corleone in The Godfather, Part II. He took home his second, as Best Actor, for his performance in Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull. Sony Pictures Classics recently acquired The Comedian and is planning for an Oscar qualifying release as there is already buzz surrounding De Niro’s performance in the pic. He plays an aging comic icon who develops a strong bond with the daughter of a sleazy real estate mogul in the Taylor Hackford-directed dark comedy.

Other previously announced honorees for this year’s show include Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, and Tom Ford among others. Eddie Murphy is set to receive the marquee Hollywood Career Achievement Award.
