‘The Defenders’: Simone Missick Joins Marvel Netflix Series; Sarah Paulson Returns To ‘AHS’

Simone Missick

UPDATED: Luke Cage’s Simone Missick has signed on to the cast of Marvel’s The Defenders, set to premiere next year on Netflix.

Produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios, the superpowered ensemble series follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) — a quartet of singular heroes with one common goal: to save New York City. The four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, realize they just might be stronger when teamed together. Missick, who plays Misty Knight on Luke Cage, also recently recurred on Wayward Pines. She’s repped by Pantheon, Elevate Entertainment and attorney Chad Christopher.

Sarah Paulson is once again returning to American Horror Story. Ryan Murphy tweeted today that Paulson’s Lana Winters from Season 2 Asylum will be back for this season’s Roanoke.

Crossovers are nothing new to AHS. Paulson, who has appeared on every season of the anthology series also recently reprised her role of Murder House‘s psychic Billie Dean Howard on last season’s American Horror Story: Hotel.
