Netflix Sets Premiere For Vine Star Reality Series ‘Chasing Cameron’ As Celebs React To Platform Closure

Netflix has set a premiere date for its upcoming unscripted series Chasing Cameron, with all ten episodes of the show set to launch globally December 27 at 12:01 AM Pacific.

The series follows Vine star Cameron Dallas as he works to transition his career as a social media personality into other venues. Also featuring Dallas’ close friends, Taylor Caniff, Aaron Carpenter, Blake Gray, Willie Jones and Trey Schafer, Chasing Cameron will chart their participation in the first MAGCON (Meet and Greet Convention) international tour, with appearances in Italy, France, Australia, and other locales.

Produced by Magical Elves with Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth, Chasing Cameron is executive produced by Brillstein Entertainment Partners Ben Curtis, Sanford Wernick and Jon Liebman. Cameron Dallas and Bart Bordelon also serve as Executive Producers.

The news comes soon after Twitter’s shock announcement earlier today that it was shutting Vine down, making Dallas one of the last Vine stars to go mainstream. Naturally the news sent shockwaves through Twitter and through the community of personalities who made their names using the three-year old platform. Vine stars and traditional media alike weighed in, lamenting the death of Vine or simply making some pretty good jokes about the platform’s 6-second video limitation. Read on for a sampling.
