Laverne Cox has signed with ICM Partners. The Orange Is The New Black standout had been in play for agency representation since April, when her longtime agent Paul Hilepo closed the Hartig Hilepo Agency to launch a management company. He was joined by several clients, including Cox, who retained him as manager.
Cox has been breaking ground, becoming the first openly transgender performer to earn an acting Emmy nomination for her breakout role on Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black and the first transgender series regular actor on broadcast TV. She plays a transgender attorney on the midseason CBS legal drama Doubt opposite Katherine Heigl, Steven Pasquale and Dulé Hill.
Next for Cox is another high-profile TV gig — starring as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in Fox’s remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, set to air October 20.
Cox, who shared in two OITNB best comedy ensemble SAG Awards, continues to managed by Hilepo and repped by attorney Michael Mahan.
