Tic Tac Responds To Donald Trump’s Endorsement

Associated Press

Tic Tac found itself at the center of the Donald Trump controversy when the Washington Post released a 2005 tape in which the GOP candidate explained to Jeb Bush’s cousin Billy that he uses Tic Tacs before meeting a woman because sometimes he just starts kissing them if they’re beautiful.

In a statement, Tic Tac carefully navigated the marketing minefield, condemning the comment without mentioning the man:

“I’m going to use some Tic Tacs in case I start kissing her,” Trump said to Billy Bush in the video, as they pulled up in a bus at a soap opera studio, where an actress was waiting to welcome them in the parking lot and take them inside.

“I’m automatically attracted to beautiful – I just start kissing them.  It’s like a magnet. Just kiss, I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything, grab them by the pussy. You can do anything,” Trump is heard in the recording, which WaPo broke two days before the candidate’s second debate with Dem candidate Hillary Clinton.
