Sumner Redstone’s Ex Fires Her Lead Lawyer, Then Sues Him

Three months after a judge denied her a new trial over Sumner Redstone’s heath care directive, his former live-in lover abrupt has fired her chief attorney. Sources confirm to Deadline that Manuela Herzer not only sacked Pierce O’Donnell, she is suing him. Her complaint alleges that O’Donnell and his firm got Herzer to pay a half-million dollars worth of another client’s legal fees.

Herzer’s suit claims that Greenberg Glasser of Century City persuaded her to pay $500,000 so the law firm to continue to rep Redstone’s granddaughter, Keryn Redstone, in her attempt to be added to the family trust.

In response to Herzer’s complaint, Bob Baradaran, Managing Partner of Greenberg Glusker said in a statement: “It is not our practice to make specific, public comments about our clients, current or past. However, Ms. Herzer’s complaint is inaccurate and her claims are unfounded, for reasons that we believe will be clear once the facts are fully presented.”

Herzer’s new suit claims breach of fiduciary duty and seeks a vid of the original $500,000 payment and $500,000 in damages.
