‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Previews Episode & Pranks Fans – NY Comic-Con

So how did Clark Gregg react when he heard the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was plucking Ghost Rider from the Marvel stable to add to his team?

“I’ll be honest, I saw the movies,” Gregg said tonight during the show’s New York Comic-Con panel, his reference to the Nicolas Cage big-screen iterations of the character drawing laughs. “No offense, I just was nervous. I was nervous about it.”

The Big Three from S.H.I.E.L.D. — Gregg (Agent Coulson), Chloe Bennett (Skye/Daisy/Quake), and new cast mate Gabriel Luna (Ghost Rider/Robby Reyes) — were in a playful mood onstage tonight, hyped up beforehand by Marvel TV President Jeph Loeb, who came out to introduce his stars wearing a Ghost Rider mask. Bennett dropped an “F” bomb trying to remember what her character was called nowadays (on a more serious note, she of the journey from Skye to Quake: “This is definitely her season of rebellion and taking time to figure out what exactly she is feeling.”

After the panel, Tuesday’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was previewed for the crowd, but before giving Comic-Con fans their early fix, Loeb cued up a video made earlier in the day by Gregg, Bennett, and Reyes. Each put on costumes to walk the Comic-Con floor and interview attendees about their favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. characters, and what they thought of the show (they then revealed themselves to the delight of fans). It was a fun project, though slightly embarrassing at one point – one cosplayer dressed as Spider-Man said of the show: “I watched the first season of it and I didn’t really get into it.”
