Luc Besson To Make New York Comic-Con Stop With ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’

Director Luc Besson will be in attendance at New York Comic Con this week to showcase his upcoming space adventure film Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets. Based on a French comic book series Valérian and Laureline, the film stars Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, Rihanna, Ethan Hawke, and John Goodman.

Besson will be on hand, along with Jean-Claude Mézières, illustrator and co-creator of the original graphic novel, for a fan meet-and-greet and autograph signing Thursday October 6.

Also available during the convention, which runs October 6-9, is an interactive booth featuring an array of early video footage displays, still images and props from the film as well as a photo booth and comic book store displaying multiple issues of the classic French comic.

In theaters July 21, 2017, the sci-fi actioner follows Valerian (DeHaan) and Laureline (Delevingne), a pair of 28th century government agents tasked with maintaining peace and order throughout the universe.
