Taylor Swift Signs Deal With AT&T That Includes Pre-Super Bowl Concert

Taylor Swift Grammy Awards

AT&T says it has a “major, exclusive multi-year, multi-faceted deal” with Taylor Swift that will include a concert in Houston the night before Super Bowl LI in February.

What does that mean for the company and customers of its services including DirecTV, DirecTV Now, and U-verse? Don’t ask: AT&T says it will “share more details on the new multi-year relationship in the near future.”

But the telco does say that Swift will headline DirecTV’s “Super Saturday Night” event at a “custom-made 64,000-square-foot venue” in Houston. It’s an invitation-only event, but some fans will be able to score tickets “through a series of exclusive AT&T promotions and campaigns.”

Previous entertainers at the annual party include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, and Rihanna and Kanye West.

“We’re excited to get event tickets into the hands of Taylor’s fans and exclusive content from the event to our customers and celebrate the combination of one of the world’s biggest artists with one of the world’s biggest sporting events,” says AT&T Entertainment Group CEO John Stankey.

The company adds, though, that this is “one of many opportunities AT&T and Taylor Swift will team up for in the coming months.”
