James Corden Settles Controversy As To Whether ‘Stranger Things’ Steve Fathered ‘Parks & Rec’s Jean-Ralphio

Ben Schwartz, who played Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on Parks and Recreation, joined Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington in Netflix’s Stranger Things, for an interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner as to whether Keery’s character is, in fact the father of Schwartz’s character. The investigative piece was handled by CBS’s James Corden-hosted Late Late Show, because CBS News was busy getting to the bottom of the report in CBS This Morning co-host Charlie Rose’s head that Trevor Noah had been let go from Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.

It all started when deep-thought-thinkers on the internet began theorizing that Stranger Things’s Steve must be father to Parks and Rec’s Jean-Ralphio, because both shows are set in made-up towns in Indiana, and Stranger Things is set in the 80’s and the two actors look like they might be related — especially when dressed in matching outfits. While not looming as large in the country’s cultural zeitgeist as What Color Is This Dress, the question of Jean-Ralphio ancestry was pressing in certain circles.
