‘Dice’ Renewed For Season 2 By Showtime

Showtime has given a 7-episode Season 2 order to half-hour comedy series Dice to air in 2017.

The sophomore cycle of the scripted, semi-autobiographical series, from Fox 21 TV Studios, will dig deeper into the many facets of Andrew Dice Clay – beyond the character who once sold out Madison Square Garden – as the unemployed comic struggles in the Vegas suburbs to be a loving father, a devoted boyfriend and a professional gambler who is stuck dealing with the effects of his outrageous brand of fame. The series will film in Los Angeles and Las Vegas next year.

Created by Scot Armstrong (Old School, The Hangover Part II), Dice also stars Kevin Corrigan. Last season’s guest stars included Natasha Leggero, Lorraine Bracco, Adrien Brody, Michael Rapaport, Wayne Newton, Criss Angel and Rita Rudner.

With Episodes coming to an end, Dice — whose six-episode first season marked the first time Showtime released an entire season at once on SVOD — is the network’s only returning comedy series. On the linear channel, it was Showtime’s lowest rated series this year, averaging 191,000 viewers.

Dice is executive produced by Armstrong, Sean Furst, Bryan Furst, Andrew Dice Clay, Bruce Rubenstein, Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka.
