Arnon Milchan To Receive Gotham Awards Industry Tribute


New Regency founder and Oscar-nominated producer Arnon Milchan will receive one of the annual Industry Tributes at this year’s Gotham Awards, the indie-film honors set for November 28 in New York City. He joins Oliver Stone, Amy Adams and Ethan Hawke as this year’s tribute recipients.

The Gotham tributes are for individuals “whose unique vision and contributions have made a significant impact on the motion picture industry.”

Milchan was nominated for an Best Picture Oscar last year as producer on the Leonardo DiCaprio starrer The Revenant, which earned DiCaprio the Best Actor Oscar and Alejandro G. Iñárritu Best Director. Milchan was also nominated for Best Picture in 1998 for Curtis Hanson’s L.A. Confidential. His producer credits include Brazil, Once Upon A Time In America, The King of Comedy, Fight Club, 12 Years A Slave, Birdman and The Big Short.

New Regency’s slate this year includes Warren Beatty’s Rules Don’t Apply and Assassin’s Creed.

“Arnon Milchan exemplifies the passion, drive, and innovative thinking essential to independent film,” said organizer Independant Film Project’s executive director Joana Vicente. “We can think of few others who have so consistently supported the best in auteur-driven filmmaking, working with such talent as Oliver Stone, David Fincher, and Alejandro G. Iñárritu. We’re thrilled to be presenting him with this year’s Industry Tribute at the Gotham Awards.”

The Gotham Awards nominees will be announced October 20.
