‘Super Troopers’ Sequel Adds Will Sasso & Hayes MacArthur

Hayes MacArthur and Will Sasso have joined the cast of Super Troopers 2, the sequel to the 2001 cop comedy that sees the return of Broken Lizard, the comedy troupe consisting of  Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske, who were behind the original film. They join previously announced cast members Rob Lowe, Emmanuel Chriqui, Lynda Carter and Tyler Labine.

The two will play part of the trio of Mounties in the film with MacArthur as Mountie Podein and Sasso as Mountie Archambault. The members of the Canadian Mounted Police are described as rugged, manly, and among those who consider Americans obnoxious and oafish. Labine completes the gang with his role as Mountie Bellefuille. Fox Searchlight is releasing the second installment in North America.

Sasso, repped by D2 Management, APA, and Del, Shaw, played Curly in 2012’s The Three Stooges and will reprise his role in the sequel. He also had a recurring role on the last season of Showtime’s Shameless.

MacArthur will return as Jay Geils for Season 3 of Angie Tribeca on TBS. Past film credits include A Haunted House 2, She’s Out Of My League, and Life As We Know It. He is repped by CAA, Management 360, and Morris, Yorn.
