Dustin Lance Black Returns To CAA

EXCLUSIVE: After only five months at William Morris Endeavor, filmmaker Dustin Lance Black is returning to Creative Artists Agency. Black scripted ABC’s upcoming seven-part miniseries When We Rise, which follows a group of LGBT activists helping to pioneer the gay rights movement. He currently is adapting A. Scott Berg’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography Lindbergh, with Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way, Kevin McCormick and Paramount Television producing.

The writer-director-producer is executive producing When We Rise alongside Bruce Cohen, Larry Mark and Gus Van Sant. His other credits include writing J. Edgar starring Leonardo DiCaprio and helmed by Clint Eastwood, and writing HBO’s Big Love. Black won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the 2008 Best Picture contender Milk.

He had left CAA for WME in April. His attorney is Gretchen Rusch from Hansen Jacobson.
