Courtney B. Vance became the third People v. O.J. Simpson actor rewarded tonight, taking the Lead Actor, Limited Series trophy over the expected frontrunner Bryan Cranston. It was a hard-fought category, in fact, with the other heavyweight nominees including Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock), Idris Elba (Luther), Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager) and Vance’s co-star Cuba Gooding Jr. But Vance’s win meant All the Way was shut out in its two seemingly most secure categories – this, and TV Movie.

Vance thanked cast and crew in a rousing speech. But he reserved his biggest thank you for the end: “To the woman that rocks my chain, Angela Evelyn Bassett, this one is for you girl.” And after numerous Trump references from host Jimmy Kimmel and others, Vance went Democrat with his last comment: “Obama Out, Hillary In!”
