Joan Rater & Tony Phelan Re-Up Overall Deal At CBS Television Studios

Doubt creators Joan Rater and Tony Phelan have closed a new two-year overall deal at CBS Television Studios, extending their current pact through the summer of 2018.

Under the new deal, Rater & Phelan will continue as executive producers and showunners on their legal drama series Doubt for CBS and supervise and develop new projects.

Since joining CBS TV Studies in summer 2014, former Grey’s Anatomy executive producers Rater and Phelan developed and wrote two drama projects that went to pilot at CBS, Doubt and Drew, one of which, Doubt starring Katherine Heigl, went to series for a midseason 2017 launch.

Phelan and Rater segued to CBS TV Studios from ABC Studios where they worked for nine seasons on Shondaland’s Grey’s Anatomy as executive producers, and served as co-showrunners for their last three seasons.
