‘Harley And The Davidsons’ Hits Best Single-Network Mini Number In 3+ Years In Live+3

Discovery Channel’s miniseries Harley And The Davidsons lept to 4.4 million total viewers with Live+3 viewing to become the most-watched single-network cable mini in 3.5 years, dating back to History’s The Bible.

Discovery boasted this afternoon it’s the network’s most watched “series” ever, excluding documentaries. This also lets out Shark Week. The six-hour miniseries about the birth of the iconic motorcycle brand unspooled in two-hour blocks over three consecutive nights September 5-7.

In the network’s target 25-54 demo, the three-night project averaged 2M viewers. This was also the network’s highest-rated rookie series ever among men aged 25-54.

“We are really pleased that so many shared the wild ride of Harley And The Davidsons,” Rich Ross, Group President for Discovery, Animal Planet and Science, said today in a statement. This was a big one for Ross, being the first miniseries for Discovery Channel on his watch.

Harley And The Davidsons was the No. 1 cable program across adults and men 25-54, excluding sports, and men 18-49 all three nights.

Discovery scored a 2.23 rating in the demo and 4.36M total viewers Monday with viewing of up to three days factored in. Tuesday tallied a 2.17  rating in the 25-54 age bracket and 4.41M total viewers. Wednesday’s episodes averaged a 2.11 and 4.41M viewers.

Adding in the 11 PM encores, the Monday-Wednesday project was sampled by 14.73 million total viewers watching six minutes or more.
