‘The Ballad Of Lefty Brown’ To Star Bill Pullman, Jim Caviezel And Peter Fonda


EXCLUSIVE: Bill Pullman, Jim Caviezel and Peter Fonda are starring in The Ballad of Lefty Brown, a film that was written and is being directed by Jared Moshé (Dead Man’s Burden) is what is a period movie set in 1889 after Congress declared the frontier closed. The indie film, which also stars Kathy Baker, began shooting in Montana today. The film is being produced by Neda Armian (Rachel Getting Married), Edward Parks and Ryan Lewis.

Pullman is set to play ‘Lefty’ Brown while Jim Caviezel is playing Governor James Reece, the once greenhorn lawyer who is Territorial Governor. Fonda is portraying cattle driver Edward Johnson who sets the landscape for the entire narrative until the game changing moment when he is elected Senator and will soon leave for Washington.

Johnson led the first cattle drives north from Texas in ’66; defended homesteaders from Comanches in ’74 and for three decades and brought law and order to the West. Despite the objections of his wife Laura (played by Baker), he puts ‘Lefty’ (Pullman) in charge of his ranch. However, old habits die hard and when a rustler named Frank makes off with a herd of steer and Johnson takes Lefty to get the cattle back. Only Frank ends up fatally shooting Johnson while ‘Lefty’ lives and sets out after Frank.

Pullman, who is in Rob Reiner’s LBJ and reprised his role in Independence Day: Resurgence this summer, is repped by ICM Partners, Anonymous Content and See-Through Films.

Caviezel (Person of Interest, The Passion of the Christ) is repped by ICM Partners and Tencer and Associates.

Fonda recently guest starred on the season finale of the hit AMC show, Ride with Norman Reedus breaking all viewing records for the debut show. He is repped by Untitled Entertainment, Pure Arts Management and Integrated PR.

Baker just shot a film in St. Helena, Montana: Sailing Lesson which was directed by Eleanor Coppola and produced by Fred Roos. She is also gearing up for season 2 of Netflix’s hit series The Ranch and will Baker will next be seen in the Lifetime movie Sister Cities. Baker is repped by Paradigm and Berwick & Kovacik.
