CBS’ ‘Big Brother’ And ‘Big Bang Theory’ Top Untidy Night Of NFL And Hermine Pre-Emptions


On a night pocked with high-rated local pre-emptions for NFL and Hurricane Hermine updates, CBS’ The Big Bang Theory appears to have been the most watched program of Thursday night with 8.8 million viewers, while network’s summer reality series Big Brother dominated in the demo that matters most, clocking a 2.3/4 among 18-49 year olds.

CBS dominated every half hour of the night in both metrics, except 10 PM’s Code Black, which shared the demo win in its first half hour with NBC’s repeat American Ninja Warrior (1.3; att 10:30 PM, Code Black was edged out by Ninja and ABC’s repeat Match Game (1.1).

CBS wound up with a 1.7 rating and 6.9M total viewers in primetime. ABC and Fox tied for runner-up in the demo with 1.3 each. ABC’s total-viewer tally stands at 5.2M in the early stats, compared with Fox’s 5M. NBC followed with a 1.2 rating and 4.5M viewers, ahead of CW’s 0.5 rating and 1.5M viewers.
