Joanna Klein Named SVP Scripted Development At Lifetime


Lifetime has filled its head of scripted vacancy, tapping Joanna Klein as SVP Scripted Development. She takes the position previously held by EVP Nina Lederman who departed last fall.


Klein will be based in Los Angeles, reporting to Liz Gateley, Lifetime’s EVP and Head of Programming. Klein comes from The CW Network where she had been since 2006. At the CW, Klein was SVP Development since 2010 and co-head of drama alongside Gaye Hirsch since 2011. Hirsch will now oversee the department solo. During her tenure at the CW, Klein developed Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries and Arrow, among others.

Klein’s resume also includes stints as VP, Programming at Regency Television and VP, Series Television for Lionsgate.
