UTA Signs UK Multi-Hyphenate Phoebe Waller-Bridge

EXCLUSIVE: Ahead of her latest project’s American debut, UTA has signed actress, comedian, director and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge after a very competitive pursuit. Currently seen on E4’s Crashing, which she created and writes for, the multi-hyphenate next will be seen in her comedy series Fleabag, which debuts September 16 in the U.S. on Amazon Prime. Created and written by Waller-Bridge based on her Edinburgh Fringe Festival-winning one-woman show, Fleabag premiered July 21 on BBC3 in the UK.

Waller-Bridge was a series regular on Broadchurch in 2015 and appeared in romantic Lake Bell-Simon Pegg comedy Man Up. Among her other credits is sitcom The Cafe, and she received the Critics’ Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright, two WhatsOnStage Awards, and a The Stage award, all in 2013. She continues to be represented by Hatton McEwan Penford and Independent Talent Group.
