Brett Gelman-Starring Indie ‘Lemon’ Wraps; Janicza Bravo’s Feature Directorial Debut

Brett Gelman is toplining Lemon, an indie drama he co-wrote with Janicza Bravo, who made her feature helming debut on the project. Burn Later Productions and Killer Films are producing and the pic just wrapped principal photography. The cast includes Gelman’s Married co-star Judy Greer , Michael Cera, Nia Long, Fred Melamed, Shiri Appleby, Rhea Perlman, David Paymer, Gillian Jacobs, Megan Mullally, Martin Starr, Jeff Garlin and Marla Gibbs.

Bravo and Gelman wrote Lemon, which centers on Isaac Laachman (Gelman), an out-of-work actor who tries to stop his life from unraveling after he is left by his blind girlfriend (Greer). Financing was arranged by ICM Partners and UTA, who are repping rights.

Burn Later’s Paul Bernon, Sam Slater and David Bernon produced with Han West and Houston King. Killer Films’ Christine Vachon and David Hinojosa, Bravo and Gelman are exec producing, and Rowan Riley of Burn Later is co-producing.
