‘Homeland’: Robert Knepper Set To Recur

Robert Knepper has booked a recurring role on Season 6 of Showtime’s flagship drama series Homeland.

The new season of the series, starring Claire Danes, is set following the U.S. presidential election with a newly elected female POTUS (Elizabeth Marvel) who is a junior senator from New York and “a little Hillary, a little Donald and a little Bernie Sanders,” according to showrunner Alex Gansa.

Knepper will play General Jamie McClendon, the Department of Defense representative briefing President-elect Keane (Marvel) and her transition team.

This is the second recurring role for Knepper on a Showtime series — he also will be seen in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival. Additionally, Knepper is reprising his role in the Fox event series Prison Break. He’s repped by Innovative Artists and LINK Entertainment.

Production on Season 6 of Homeland is underway for a January premiere.
