Olympics Media Bus Windows Shattered, Possible Gun Shots En Route To Rio’s Olympic Park

A media bus for journalists covering the Rio Olympics was shot at tonight, according to multiple reports, with windows smashed but no serious injuries. The bullets did not penetrate into the bus’ interior, apparently, but shattered glass caused minor injuries to two of the twelve passengers aboard.

The bus was enroute to the Olympic Park’s media center after leaving a women’s basketball game between Turkey and Japan at the Deodoro Youth Arena.

Police are investigating the incident, including the possibility that the windows were shattered by something other than bullets.
