Will Poulter, Ben O’Toole and Jack Reynor are joining John Boyega in Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled film about the 1967 Detroit race riots. Mark Boal wrote the screenplay for the film and will produce with Bigelow, Annapurna’s Megan Ellison & Matthew Budman and Colin Wilson. Greg Shapiro is exec producing. Set against the riots that took place over five hot summer days in 1967, the crime drama explores systemic racism in urban Detroit. Production is set to begin in the summer, and a 2017 release date is being eyed. Annapurna is financing the film, which has no studio attached.

Fox Searchlight

Fox Searchlight has set a March 3 release date for Wilson, starring Woody Harrelson and Laura Dern. Directed by Craig Johnson from Daniel Clowes’ script, the pic sees Harrelson as Wilson, a lonely, neurotic and hilariously honest middle-aged misanthrope who reunites with his estranged wife (Dern) and gets a shot at happiness when he learns he has a teenage daughter (Isabella Amara) he has never met. In his uniquely outrageous and slightly twisted way, he sets out to connect with her. Judy Greer, Cheryl Hines and Isabella Amara co-star.
