‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Ratings Jump Over 2015; ‘Running Wild’ Hits Viewership High

The Bachelorette is over for another season, but reality romance fans still got their shot last night with the Season 3 debut of Bachelor In Paradise (1.4/5). And it was a shot in the arm with villainous former Bachelorette cast members getting the boot, and the ABC series surging up 27% among adults 18-49 from its Season 2 opener on August 2 last year, a Sunday.

Even with 10 PM’s Mistresses (0.6/3) down a tenth from its most recent original, that was BiP’s best demo performance since its Season 1 finale pushed ABC into the second spot among the 18-49s overall of Tuesday night with a 1.1/4 rating. The top spot of the night, in both demo and viewership, went to NBC with a 2.1/8 and 9.31 million viewers.

That result came courtesy of America’s Got Talent (2.4/9) and the second episode of the new season of Running Wild With Bear Grylls (1.4/5). With 11.31 million watching, AGT was up 8% in viewership though down a tenth in the demo from its July 26 show. With Julianne Hough on board with Bear, Running Wild, however, took off with its best ever viewership of 5.3 million and a 27% jump over its Season 3 debut of August 1 to match its second best demo rating. For you trivia fans – the previous top viewership for Running Wild was 4.5 million on August 11, 2014 when Channing Tatum was on the show.

CBS’ only original of the night was Zoo (0.8/3), which is even with its fast affiliate numbers of last week and up 14% over the July 26 show with final adjustments factored in. Fox’s 2-hour Season 1 finale of Coupled (0.4/2) is even with last week’s one-hour airing at 9 PM.

The CW’s double shot of Whose Line Is It Anyway? (0.5/2) at 8 PM and 8:30 PM were up two tenths from last week while MADtv (0.4/1) rose 33% in the demo.
