Tony Bennett Sings For Stephen Colbert To Celebrate 90th Birthday

Yesterday at TCA, NBC announced it would mark today’s 90th birthday of Tony Bennett with a primetime special. It will feature featuring Lady Gaga, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel,  Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Diana Krall, k.d. lang, Rufus Wainwright, Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Kevin Spacey, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, and Homer Simpson.

But it won’t air until December 20.

CBS did not wait. Bennett was Stephen Colbert’s Late Show guest last night, performing one of his standards, the Gordon Jenkins song “This Is All I Ask.” Broadcast in the final moments of the late-night show, it aired on Bennett’s birthday. Happy birthday, Mr. Bennett.
