Michelle Dockery Thrilled To Play Bad Girl Letty In “Messed Up Love Story” ‘Good Behavior’ – TCA

Michelle Dockery thinks she’s the lucky one, to have landed her first post-Downton Abbey gig playing Letty TNT’s Good Behavior. “Downton was coming to an end and this script came to me and I fell in love with the character and the story.”

“I was very fortunate that something so different from what I had been doing the last six years came my way.”

Dockery brushed aside one TV critic’s note that Lady Mary would never describe her lover as “having a huge cock,” as did Letty in the pilot.  “I’ve had the opportunity to play two very strong female characters and there are some parallels. It’s just a very different period; one happens to be in the 20’s and the other is modern day.  Letty is an extraordinary character, colorful, and raw, and fascinating to play, and I’m loving every minute of it. I hope it continues.”

Characters not instantly likeable “are the best characters to play,” Dockery said happily. “I don’t think they need to be likeable to like them. Some of the best characters don’t always behave well.”

“Letty finds it hard to exist as other people do. She gets bored easily and the dressing up part of it, and becoming another character is the high, fooling people.”

Good Behavior  is based on the Letty Dobesh books by Blake Crouch (Wayward Pines), and stars Dockery as a thief and con artist whose life is always one wrong turn, or one bad decision from implosion – which is exactly how she likes it. She soon finds herself on a collision course with a hired killer, played by Juan Diego Botto (Ismael, El Greco), entangling both of them in a dangerously captivating relationship.

“It’s a messed up love story in a conventional love story,” Dockery beamed.
