Ben Foster Rounds Out Scott Cooper’s ‘Hostiles’ Cast As Shooting Starts

Ben Foster has joined the cast of Hostiles, the frontier drama that Scott Cooper began filming this week in Sante Fe. Pic, produced by John Lesher and Ken Kao, stars Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike, Wes Studi, Adam Beach, Q’orianka Kilcher, Jonathan Majors, Timothée Chalamet, Paul Anderson, Stephen Lang, Bill Camp, Peter Mullan, Michael Parks and Ryan Bingham. Bigham was in Cooper’s Crazy Heart and is writing some original songs for Hostiles.

Set in 1892, Hostiles tells the story of legendary Army Capt. Joseph J. Blocker (Bale), who after stern resistance, begrudgingly agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief, Chief Yellow Hawk (Studi) and his family back to tribal lands. Making the perilous journey from an isolated Army outpost in New Mexico to the grasslands of Montana, the former rivals encounter a young widow (Pike), whose family was murdered on the plains. She joins them as they try to overcome the hostile Comanche tribes.
