Sia Saddles Up For ‘My Little Pony’ As Actress And Songstress — Comic-Con


Sia just joined the cast of Hasbro and Lionsgate’s My Little Pony: The Movie and will also write two original songs to the film’s soundtrack. Best known for her iconic music videos and songwriting ability, her role as pony pop star Songbird Serenade will be one of Sia’s first forays into acting. The announcement was made today in San Diego at Comic-Con.

Sia will play an integral role in the film and joins other voice actors: Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black), Emily Blunt (Into the Woods, Gnomeo & Juliet), Kristen Chenoweth (Rio 2, The Peanuts Movie), Taye Diggs (Best Man Holiday), Michael Pena (Ant-Man) and Liev Schrieber (Ray Donovan, Spotlight).

My Little Pony: The Movie is being scripted by Rita Hsiao (Toy Story 2, Mulan) and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic writer Meghan McCarthy and directed by Jayson Thiessen. The film will be produced by Brian Goldner, Stephen Davis and Josh Feldman, for Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures. My Little Pony: The Movie is scheduled to land in theaters around the world on October 6, 2017.
