J. Mills Goodloe To Adapt ‘Anatomy Of A Misfit’ For Paramount

Associated Press

EXCLUSIVE: The Age Of Adaline scribe J. Mills Goodloe is set to rewrite the script for Andrea Portes’ 2014 YA novel Anatomy Of A Misfit, which Paramount picked up in a pre-emptive deal in 2014 for producer Allison Shearmur.

Goodloe is rewriting the latest draft from Portes and Joel Silverman. The book, published by HarperTeen right after the movie deal was struck, is based on a story from bestseller Portes’ life: It centers on the third-most-popular girl in school who is secretly dating a troubled loner when the most popular guy is suddenly interested in her. She struggles to choose between them until she is faced with a tragedy that changes her entire perception of high school and the social order.

Shearmur is currently producing the stand-alone pic Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Goodloe penned The Age Of Adaline, the 2015 pic starring Blake Lively as a young woman born at the turn of the 20th century, who is rendered ageless after an accident. He also has the upcoming The Mountains Between Us starring Idris Elba and Kate Winslet which shoots in the fall for Fox and Everything, Everything also going in the fall via MGM.

He is repped by UTA and attorney Bianca Goodloe.
