Showtime Calls Florida State’s Number For Football Docuseries

As we endure a summer marked by tragedy, one thing is clear: Football is coming. And Showtime is ready. The premium cabler said today the Florida State Seminoles will be the subject of this year’s seasonlong docuseries. A Season with Florida State Football will premiere September 6, the day after the team’s season opener.

After tracking Notre Dame through a strong season last year, Showtime Sports heads south to the pigskin hotbed of Florida, where the Seminoles enter the 2016 campaign among the top teams in preseason NCAA rankings. The series will feature unprecedented access to the school’s storied program and its student athletes, covering preparations for each week’s matchup to the intensity of game day and the rigors of balancing athletics with classwork during the season. From the Week 1 matchup with the Ole Miss Rebels to showdowns with bitter rivals Clemson, Miami and Florida, A Season with Florida State Football will follow the Seminoles as they aim for a second NCAA title four years.

“There’s no other network delivering such intimate and unbridled access to world-class teams and athletes during the most crucial times of their respective seasons,” said Stephen Espinoza, EVP & General Manager of Showtime Sports. “It’s our difference maker.”

The series is executive produced by are Scott A. Stone of Stone & Company Entertainment, Michael Antinoro of IMG Productions and Tom Cappello of Crazy Legs Productions along with Jason Sciavicco, David Check, Steve Stern and Ross Greenburg.
