Melissa McCarthy-Ben Falcone Comedy ‘Life Of The Party’ Gets Summer 2018 Release

Warner Bros just scheduled the Melissa McCarthy-Ben Falcone comedy Life of the Party for summer 2018, specifically on May 11. The news comes as the McCarthy-co-starring reboot of Ghostbusters arrives in theaters this weekend having made a hefty preview number of $3.5M last night. Some are saying the female comedy troupe could make off with anywhere between $47M to $60M-plus for rival Sony.

Life of the Party is a New Line comedy that reteams The Boss husband-wife team of McCarthy and Falcone (who is directing). This is their second project set up after Tammy, which grossed $100.5M worldwide on a $20M production budget. Meanwhile, The Boss opened to $23.5M for Universal and grossed $78.6M worldwide.

There is nothing else scheduled so far for May 11, 2018. Marvel/Disney’s Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 bows the weekend before, and DreamWorks Animation/Fox’s How to Train Your Dragon 3 arrives the following weekend.
