WWE Star John Cena Inks New Reality Deal With Leftfield Entertainment

It’s turning out to be a day of business body slams for John Cena. The WWE star, American Grit host and Trainwreck actor is not only hosting the ESPY Awards tonight but has now solidified his relationship with Leftfield Entertainment with a new development deal for unscripted TV and online projects.

This extends the arrangement the parties came to in 2014 that has seen Grit debuted on Fox on April 14 this year and has several more projects in the pipeline with the ICM Partners repped 15 time WWE World Champion. “Whether I’m in the ring for WWE or on a TV or film set, I approach all of my work the same way – with focus, authenticity and total commitment, said Cena in a statement On Wednesday. “I’m eager to bring that same work ethic to the team at Leftfield, and to create new kinds of programming that can inspire and push people to be their best. I’m living proof of what you can accomplish when that happens.”

“We’re extremely proud and happy to be in business with John,” said Leftfield Entertainment CEO David George today. The new projects under this latest deal will see Cena serve as an EP under his Hard Nocks South shingle.

Still a top draw in the ring after a decade, Cena proved a highly effective online contender this summer when the We Are America PSA he starred in for the Ad Council took off. You can see Cena strut his stuff tonight at the ESPYs, where VP Joe Biden will be among the players in the DTLA Microsoft Theater, or as he hosts the Teen Choice Awards on July 31 – or you can see his patriotic walk and talk right here:
