Showtime Seals Five-Year Output Deal With Amblin Partners

Showtime and Amblin Partners have inked an exclusive five-year deal for qualifying theatrical releases from Amblin Entertainment, DreamWorks and Participant Media films to air on Showtime networks. The pact,  which extends the existing relationship between DreamWorks Pictures and Showtime Networks, includes pics released through 2021 to air on Showtime, the Movie Channel and Flix along with affiliated multiplex channels and streaming services.


The deal, which runs through 2021, will include as many as nine films a year produced under the Amblin Partners umbrella, up to six of which will be under the Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks Pictures labels and up to three of which will be under the Participant Media label. Upcoming theatrical releases included under the existing DreamWorks deal and the new deal with Amblin are The Light Between Oceans starring Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender, The Girl on the Train starring Emily Blunt and Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson.
