VH1 is the latest cabler to move into the crowded late-night space, with a new live talker hosted by Marc Lamont Hill.

VH1 Live, which will air weekly, will put a pop culture spin on entertainment news and gossip. It’s slated to premiere Sunday, July 17 at 10 PM. Embassy Row (Watch What Happens Live, Talking Dead) is producing.

Hill, a CNN commentator and host of BET News, also is the author of Nobody: Casualties of America’s War on the Vulnerable, from Ferguson to Flint and Beyond.

VH1 Live is just the latest in a slew of late-night talk shows to enter the space over the last year, including History’s late-night comedy block Night Class, companion to its late-night show Join or Die starring Craig Ferguson, Samantha Bee’s Full Frontal on TBS, TruTV’s Late Night Snack, AMC’s Geeking Out, and Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live on Bravo.
