‘Tallulah’ Trailer: Kidnapping, Coming Of Age And Accidental Parenthood

Written and directed by Sian Heder (Orange is the New Black), the Netflix original film Tallulah tells the story of young drifter Lu (Ellen Page), who lives a fiercely independent hand-to-mouth life out of her van. When a chance encounter leads her to impulsively “rescue” — kidnap, in other words — a baby from a negligent mother, Lu turns for help to the only responsible adult she knows: Margo (Allison Janney), who mistakenly believes she’s the child’s grandmother. Lu grows to learn what it means to be a parent and the consequences of her actions loom as the investigation into the baby’s kidnapping closes in. Watch the official trailer above.

Also starring Tammy Blanchard, Zachary Quinto, John Benjamin Hickey¬†and Uzo Aduba , Tallulah is based on Heder’s earlier short film Mother, which was inspired by her experience working as a babysitter for hotel guests in Los Angeles, where she once was asked to watch a baby whose mother had come to a hotel to conduct an affair. The soundtrack was composed by Michael Brook, with Heather Rae, Russell Levine, Chris Columbus, Eleanor Columbus, Todd Traina, and Charlotte Ubben producing. Tallulah debuts June 29 on Netflix in all territories.
