A24 Sets Dates For ‘Moonlight’ & Cannes Jury Prize Winner ‘American Honey’

American Honey

A24 has scheduled Andrea Arnold’s millennial road movie American Honey for a September 30 opening in New York and Los Angeles. The film, which follows a drifter girl (Sasha Lane) who teams up with a sketchy but sweet posse of twentysomething magazine sellers, won the jury prize at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The film spotlights a young group of people who live on the fringe, traversing Middle America, peddling magazines door-to-door during the day and partying hard at night. The pic also stars Shia LaBeouf and Riley Keough.

In addition, A24 will debut Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight on October 21 in New York and Los Angeles. The film, based on Tarell McCraney’s play In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue stars Naomie Harris, Mahershala Ali, Janelle Monáe, André Holland, Alex R. Hibbert, Jaden Piner, Ashton Sanders, Trevante Rhodes and Jharrel Jerome.
