Warner Bros. has revealed that the spot it reserved for May 24, 2019 with an event title will be occupied by their feature take of the hit PC and app game Minecraft. Pic will be presented in 3D and on Imax.
Summer 2019’s schedule is still filling out and the only other title slated for May so far is Disney/Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Part II on May 3. On June 14 of that year, Warner Bros. has the second part of Justice League.
Deadline first broke the news in February 2014 about Warner Bros. acquiring the Mojang movie rights back in 2014 with Lego Movie producer Roy Lee and Mean Girls producer Jill Messick behind the property. Last July, it was announced that It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor Rob McElhenney will direct.
